PROGRAM OBJECTIVE
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
MONDAY 08 – AN ACCEPTABLE OFFERING (Genesis 4:3-7) "The true worship does not come from the hands, but from the heart."
BASE TEXT: Genesis 4:3-7 — Cain and Abel offer sacrifices to God.
HERMENEUTICS — CONTEXT AND MEANING • First record of formal worship in the Bible. • Shows the difference between external religion and internal relationship with God. • Positions sacrifice as an expression of communion, not just a simple ritual.
EXEGESIS • Cain: presents fruit from the ground without a reverent attitude. • Abel: gives the best and the firstborn with faith (Hebrews 11:4). • God looks first at the person, then at the offering.
CENTRAL TRUTH An acceptable offering requires an obedient heart, pure motive, and a life of righteousness.
APPLICATION • Your service must come from love, not pride. • God rejects the offering contaminated by hidden sin.
CHRISTIAN PHRASE "God sees beyond the altar; He sees the soul that raises it."
MYTHS AND REALITIES • Myth: God rejected Cain because of the type of offering. • Reality: He rejected him because of his heart (1 John 3:12).
MESSAGE FOR LEADERS Pastor, deacon, worship leader: God demands integrity, not appearance.
TUESDAY 09 – THE SCAPEGOAT (Leviticus 16:15-22) "Atonement is the shadow; Christ is the Light that fulfills it."
BASE TEXT: Leviticus 16:15-22 — Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur).
HERMENEUTICS • Studies the sacrificial system as a symbol of Christ's future work. • Two goats: one sacrificed, the other expelled.
EXEGESIS • One sheds its blood for the people's sin. • The scapegoat symbolically carries the guilt and is taken to the wilderness. • This act prophetically pointed to the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world (John 1:29).
CENTRAL TRUTH God provides a substitute for our guilt.
APPLICATION • Jesus Christ was our legal, spiritual, and eternal substitute. • We no longer carry condemnation.
CHRISTIAN PHRASE "What sin marks, the blood of Christ erases."
CURIOSITIES • The people witnessed the goat's departure, symbolizing the removal of sin. • Jesus was also taken outside the city to die (Hebrews 13:12).
MESSAGE TO THE CHURCH Do not live condemned when Christ has already borne your guilt.
WEDNESDAY 10 – THE SUFFERING SAVIOR (Isaiah 53:4-7) "Christ's pain was the price of our freedom."
BASE TEXT: Isaiah 53:4-7 — Prophecy of the Suffering Servant.
HERMENEUTICS • Messianic prophet 700 years before Jesus. • Presents the Messiah as an innocent substitute.
EXEGESIS • “Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering.” • “He was crushed for our iniquities.” • “He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth.”
CENTRAL TRUTH Christ suffered voluntarily to save us completely.
APPLICATION • Your spiritual healing is tied to His sacrifice. • When you suffer injustices, remember that Christ suffered without complaining.
CHRISTIAN PHRASE "Each wound in Christ is an open door to your restoration."
MYTHS AND TABOOS • Myth: Isaiah 53 is only symbolic. • Truth: It is literal, messianic, and fulfilled in Jesus (Acts 8:32-35).
MESSAGE TO LEADERS Christian leadership involves bearing crosses, not thrones.
THURSDAY 11 – JESUS' EFFECTIVE SACRIFICE (Romans 5:6-11) "Where justice demanded death, grace offered life."
BASE TEXT: Romans 5:6-11 — Christ dies for us.
HERMENEUTICS Paul presents the doctrine of substitutionary sacrifice.
EXEGESIS • Christ died at the appointed time. • Christ died for the ungodly. • We are reconciled to God. • We are saved from wrath.
CENTRAL TRUTH Christ's death not only forgives us: it reconciles, restores, and adopts us.
APPLICATION • Do not live as an enemy of God when you are already reconciled. • Salvation is a gift, but sanctification is your response.
CHRISTIAN PHRASE "The cross is the bridge where heaven draws near to man."
REALITIES • No human sacrifice equals the effectiveness of Christ's sacrifice. • It is unique, perfect, and eternal.
FRIDAY 12 – THE OLD SACRIFICIAL SYSTEM IS REPLACED (Hebrews 10:5-10) "The shadow ends when the true light arrives."
BASE TEXT: Hebrews 10:5-10 — Christ as the definitive sacrifice.
HERMENEUTICS • Letter addressed to converted Hebrews. • Explains the transition from the old covenant to the new.
EXEGESIS • Christ says: “Here I am—to do your will.” • He sets aside the first (ritual Law) to establish the second (grace). • “We have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.”
CENTRAL TRUTH Christ's sacrifice abolished all human ritual systems.
APPLICATION • Leave behind dead works, rituals without faith, empty traditions. • Open your heart to a living relationship with Christ.
CHRISTIAN PHRASE "There is no purer temple than a heart surrendered to Christ."
MESSAGE FOR THE PENTECOSTAL CHURCH We are a people of the Spirit, not of lifeless rituals.
SATURDAY 13 – WORTHY IS THE LAMB (Revelation 5:6-11) "The Lamb who died is the King who reigns."
BASE TEXT: Revelation 5:6-11 — The glorified Lamb.
HERMENEUTICS • Heavenly scene of the throne. • Jesus is presented as the “slain Lamb.”
EXEGESIS • Worthy to open the scroll. • Worthy to receive honor, glory, power, and praise. • Every created being bows before Him.
CENTRAL TRUTH The Lamb's sacrifice established Him as eternal King.
APPLICATION • Your worship must be Christ-centered. • Your life must surrender to the Lamb. • Your mission must exalt Christ.
CHRISTIAN PHRASE "On the cross He was Lamb; on the throne He is Lion."
MESSAGE FOR LEADERS Leading without worshiping is building without foundation.
GENERAL PROGRAM CONCLUSION Sacrifice is the red thread that runs through the entire Bible. From Abel to Revelation, God reveals a perfect plan: Jesus Christ, the Lamb slain from before the foundation of the world.
LIFE TEACHING True faith connects the offering, sacrifice, and worship, culminating in a life surrendered to Christ.
MINISTRY IN ACTION • Teach these studies in cells, services, discipleship. • Use these foundations to strengthen doctrine in the church. • Pastors: Establish this program as a week of consecration.
